Hello West Coast Active Riders!

Wow, it’s already February – so much has happened and is on the brink of happening this year!

Some noteworthy items – WCAR has:
• Over 130 members to date – have you joined yet?
• A new active Chairman of the Board
• Awarded two fabulous Meritorious Riders Grant winners

Congratulations & Meritorious Thanks
Applause to all of this year’s applicants– we truly had a very impressive group of scholars & equestrians. After long discussion, the judges chose two winners – Zoe Kornberg & Georgie Murray. Zoe lives in Northern California and along with her riding merits is an excellent student. Georgie maintains a full schedule at ASU (Arizona State University) and has competed at the Grand Prix level in AZ & CO. WCAR congratulates Zoe & Georgie and wishes them both a successful year.

WCAR Casino Night
The event of the year is back! WCAR is pleased to present Casino Night on Saturday, March 10th, 2007 (final weekend of HITS Thermal). Order forms for tables of ten and individual tickets will be available on February 21st. Last year we SOLD OUT and we are planning on another event-to-remember, so buy your table ASAP! WCAR is excited to have SEVEN trials this year – two in Northern California. Your best four scores will count towards Team selection. Please note the final trial at Ranch & Coast is mandatory. We are finalizing the details on two NEW fundraising programs. Beginning Week IV of HITS, WCAR is offering a Barn fundraising challenge and the opportunity for Young Riders to sell memberships for fabulous prizes.

Get your barn together to raise big money for WCAR! The barn who raises the highest amount of money will win:

• 10 Plaza Level Seats (seated together) at the 2007 FEI World Cup in Vegas! Generously donated by Bernie and Caitlin Traurig
  
• One complimentary permanent stall and complimentary entry & nomination fees for one horse for the entire 2008 HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal! Generously donated by HITS, Inc.
  

Young Rider Teams will consist of three riders under 21. The YR team that sells the most WCAR memberships during a specific timeframe will:
