Greetings WCAR Members,

It’s been busy, busy, busy since EquestriSol and Dale took over the WCAR reins from our beloved Gaby Salick. The High Roller Casino night was a grand success and we thank everyone for their support. Spruce Trials are well underway – here’s the word from Tammy Chipko:

Congratulations to everyone that competed at the Palms Classic! What a nice horse loads of team spirit. Congratulations to the winning team - Pam Buie, Erica Buie, Aurora Griffin and Cathleen Calvert. Way to go! The Grand Prix was very exciting with the top four to come back and jump off. Congratulations to Molly Talla for the only double clear round, followed by Mark Watring, Harley Brown, and Helen Mc Naught. Super Jumping!

The Blenheim Oaks Spring Show was just as exiting. Such a beautiful place to show and the turn out was fabulous. Again congratulations to everyone that competed. Yet another tough Grand Prix under the lights. The house was packed, a great chance to show off our wonderful West Coast Riders and horses. Only six of twenty-two came back, three of those going late in the order – Eddie Macken, Rory Hovell, Hap Hansen, Harley Brown, John Pearce and Richard Spooner jumped-off. Congratulations to John Pearce and Archie Bunker with beautiful double clean efforts for the win.

The scores for the first three Trials are posted at www.westcoastactiveriders.com/Tours_Tales_Results.html The last trial will be held at Ranch and Coast. Good luck to everyone!

We are currently working on some exciting events, including Day Clinics for riders that would like to school natural obstacles, and courses that will replicate ones at Spruce Meadows. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together in a team setting and prepare for Spruce Meadows. We strongly recommend trying to make one of the two schooling sessions. Dates and locations will be announced shortly.

We’re hosting another Great Fund Raising Party! On Friday, April 14th at the Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic III, WCAR is hosting an awesome cook-off! This is going to be a lot of fun so come hungry and ready to bid on your favorite cook! More details will come by email flyer & will also be posted at the show.

We are currently looking for a few good people! We need volunteers to help out with the fund raisers as well as the clinics. Please contact me, tchipko@aol.com, if you are able to help out.

And finally thank you to all of the sponsors that have helped out so far with the “Wish List” for WCAR Spruce Meadows Prix d Nations Teams:
- Saddle Pads sponsored by Maplewood Inc.
- Hunt Coats sponsored by Ariat and the Dotson Family
- Show Gloves sponsored by Heritage Riding Gloves
- Embroidery sponsored by ThreadNeedle

This is a great start but we still need help and every little bit helps. If anyone has interest or needs information regarding sponsoring please contact Tammy Chipko, 818-472-5930.

Good Luck to everyone at the Oaks Spring Classic Series. Go WCAR!
